Discord Moderation

This document serves as a reference guide for moderators to consult when they are uncertain about how to handle specific situations within the Discord server. It outlines the rules and expectations for maintaining a positive and respectful community, ensuring that all moderators are equipped with the necessary guidelines to make informed decisions.

Roles

• Kicking users from the server.
• Banning users for repeated rule violations.
• Issuing warnings to users for inappropriate behavior.

🧹 Janitor

• Removing messages that break the rules.
• Deleting spam messages.
• Timeout spammers for 24 Hours

Dealing with complex issues

If there's an issue that's morally ambiguous or complex, coordinate with other moderators to reach a decision.

Don't try to handle difficult situations alone ⚠️

Janitors and Moderators should be aware of their limitations. If you're unable to resolve an issue or have disagreements with another moderator's decision, tell me @bunfanken

Handle disagreements respectfully 💬

If you have a disagreement with @bunfanken, do NOT be afraid to voice your concern. Every moderator has a valid voice. Compromise is the primary goal when it comes to conflicts within the moderation team.

Flow of Escalation

The diagram below illustrates the recommended escalation procedure for handling the most common moderation cases within the server. This ensures that issues are addressed appropriately at each level before being elevated to higher authority.

Server Rules

Below are the server rules in a copyable format:

1. Keep our server a positive and welcoming place for people.
    - Avoid sparking controversial conversations with the intent to discomfort others.
    - Avoid being excessively negative.
    - Avoid being inappropriate to other server members; keep personal and intimate things to yourself.
    - Avoid venting and oversharing your emotional problems. This isn't a therapy server.

2. Treat everyone with respect.
    - Harassment / Discrimination of any kind will NOT be tolerated.
    - Maliciously targeting people because of an immutable characteristic is considered discrimination.

3. Use proper text chat etiquette.
    - Avoid posting malicious links.
    - Don't spam the same message over and over again.
    - Don't spam reactions.
    - Don't post large walls of text/copypastas in a channel where people are trying to have a conversation.
    - Don't mention people more than you have to. One mention is usually enough.

4. Use proper voice chat etiquette.
    - No ASMR.
    - If other people are trying to speak, make sure to give them room to talk.
    - Try not to interrupt others when they're in the middle of saying something.
    - Avoid making loud or annoying sounds that could cause others to feel uncomfortable.
    - Don't use soundboards.

5. Do not bring any outside drama into the server.
    - Keep any and all personal quarrels in your DMs.

6. Do not post, promote, or stream any content with overly crude, tasteless, or provocative themes.
    - Do not post any content with obscene or disturbing imagery.
    - Do not post content with jump scares.

7. Do not post self-promotional material without permission from a staff member. This includes direct messaging fellow members.
    - This includes but is not limited to...
      - Server Invites
      - Advertisements promoting your product or service.

8. Do not backseat moderate; if you have an issue please report it.
    - Use the /ticket command for the quickest response.
    - If something is happening that is urgent, ping a moderator in the affected channels.

9. Do NOT post or engage in any type of "in-real-life" NSFW content in the form of text or imagery.
    - This includes but is not limited to...
      - Text / Media about IRL sexual situations involving members and non-members of the server.
      - Nudes.
      - Don't talk about having sex or sexual relations with other members of the Discord.

10. Do not plagiarize or pass other people's work off as your own.
     - When posting the work of others, please include a source or link to the creator's page.
     - Do not impersonate other members in the server.

11. Do not post or stream content containing extreme kinks.
     - This includes both text and media posts.
     - The term 'extreme' means anything outside of the realm of 'vanilla' furry pornographic content.
     - The mention of unorthodox kinks may be excused if any official BunFan content contains said kink.

12. This is not a role-playing server. Keep that in your direct messages / other servers.

13. If you are under the age of 18, a definitive ban is in order. No questions asked.

14. Keep any and all NSFW material in compliance with the Official Discord Terms of Service. This is non-negotiable.

15. Do not post any leaked paysite or Patreon-exclusive content.
     - The only exception is if said content is over two years old.
